He's Out! He's Out! Hurrah, Hurrah!

Mar 26 2005

News - He's Out! He's Out! Hurrah, Hurrah!Forget the 'he's dumped me twice' in my last sad message as regrettably it's now THREE times! Ouch! Though, there's something to be sad for having an ample posterior, I may no longer bounce (as I did when younger) but at least I have a fairly cushioned landing! Brusied bottom and very bruised pride encouraged me to bite the bullet and put Bowman out after three very long months. He was excited; I was petrified he'd damage the check ligament again. But we put three very sensible and aged ponies in the field with piles of carrots and mix to keep them fully occupied, and then let Bow go... Well, call me a romantic, but I swear his little face lit up with the sheer joy and pleasure of being out in the open once more. He just didn't know what to do with himself, so he tried to roll, eat, buck, race and spring about all at the same time! The ponies/food trick worked a treat, they paid Bow absolutely no attention whatsoever (thanks Debbie, a great idea) consequently, without someone else to mess around with, Bow quickly settled down to graze and my heartbeat returned to a fairly normal rate! And, joy of joys, the leg seems to be standing up (ha ha pun!) to be out. Thank you to every one for your kind and helpful messages and suggestions. All have been most welcome. Anyone got any ideas for a bruised bum????
